This will be the clubs 15th year attending the event and we are all working hard to make this a great year for the club. Before that we are planning to attend Caradons 3 river race which is a gruelling 5 miles and Pendeens Plastic Gig Championships. Wish us luck !
We are are very proud to announce that we have won the CPGA’s Lyzie Pyne Trophy. One of the main aims of the CPGA is to preserve the heritage of the gigs themselves, this trophy is awarded to the Club who’s boats have been considered the best maintained and ‘turned out’ throughout the year, so congratulations to our Bosun Becky Masters and all her team who help her with all the jobs large or small that need to be done to keep our boats looking so good, the team is Brian N, Bruce H, Rob MS, Alistair M, Johnathan O, Dan P, Martin P and Jon R. Like our very own little elves they clean, repair, sand and paint often with no notice at all and the boats are always ready to go by the next training session. It is the very nature of the boats that they occasional take damage and without a dedicated team of ‘fixers’ we wouldn’t be able to maintain the high level of use that the boats get.
We’re delighted that their hard work has been recognised in this way.
